For over 100 years the AUGUST STORCK KG has made life sweeter. Today, 25 subsidiaries sell the successful Storck-branded products in over 90 countries, making the company one of the big international manufacturers of sweets and candies.

Since the beginning of 2005 Storck has deployed a Pixelboxx solution to help the national and international marketing departments at Storck to manage their media assets efficiently. The results have been very satisfactory.

By creating and continuously expanding the Storck Media Center the company has optimized the workflow among employees, partners and service providers. This includes the management of the media assets that need to be available on demand in the right formats and resolution for Advertising and PR, print use of packaging, and internal communications through various channels. All the necessary tools and features of this solution also needed to seamlessly adopt the Storck corporate design. 

• Over 5.000 digital images from different sources, in different formats and resolution had to be imported, categorized and grouped in separate folders
• Searching on Media assets should be fast and successful. The found images should be usable immediately
• A high degree of automation should simplify the usage, keep data up-to-date, and optimize the usage for all employees, within the scope of their access rights
• Relevant Security  features like access rights, watermarks, etc. should be available at a general level, but not cause additional administrative effort
• The solution should adopt the corporate design of Storck
• The data of existing Line of Business applications should be accessible from the Pixelboxx solution

The media assets that had been stored in many different places were imported into the Pixelboxx. Even in this initial step the Pixelboxx solution impressed with its automation capabilities: An automatic quality check was performed, Previews for the various formats were generated, and the existing media assets were imported and organized.

After Storck categorized the assets the complete archive of about 5.000 assets is now available for cross-media use. The flexible folder structure reflects the product categories, as it is common for Storck, which makes the solution immediately intuitive and usable for all employees.

All images are directly and immediately available for download. For this, the on-the-fly conversion functionality of Pixelboxx allows users to retrieve any asset automatically in the right format and optimal resolution. It is also possible to use thumbnails or previews of selected assets to easily compose a contact sheet or other layout for print or presentations, as part of the daily work. The possibilities to customize the user interface of the Pixelboxx solution thoroughly impressed Storck. It was also due to the intelligent design of the Pixelboxx solution that the Storck employees and service providers quickly adopted the new system and like using it.

By now, Pixelboxx is part of the everyday work for the Storck employees.

The synchronization automatically takes place over night, but can also be triggered manually at any time. The advantage: the data is always up-to-date and consistent
• The access rights management of the existing LDAP-System at Storck is leveraged, therefore no additional administrative effort was caused by the new Pixelboxx solution
