FC.ImageSearch   v3.0

New Release! For SharePoint 2010!

Finally, find all your images in no time!

If you've come to this page you know that finding and using the right images can be quite time-consuming. The all-new FC.ImageSearch for SharePoint 2010 product addresses this problem. It offers unique functionality which makes it easy to search for images at all levels: across the whole farm, a single-site collection or within a specific library.

Of course, we make sure that you can see all your images: even if an image is not stored in a Picture or Asset library the FC.ImageSearch product will create a thumbnail for you on the fly.

And if you have additional codecs installed the FC.ImageSearch will show you thumbnails even for image formats not supported by SharePoint, be it RAW formats (codec available for free from Microsoft) or psd and dng files (codecs available from 3rd parties).

FC.ImageSearch SearchResult

Search results have all the links to instantaneously use an image:

  • Clicking the thumbnail brings up a proper preview
  • Right-clicking the thumbnail will allow you to copy the URL of the image, which you can then easily use to paste an image into a web page
  • Clicking any of the metadata properties (blue text) will open the properties window of the item, to view or edit the metadata
  • The Folder icon links to the exact folder in the library the image is in
  • Clicking the blue download icon starts the download of the image
  • Metadata properties for display in a search result can be chosen easily using the FC.ImageSearch configuration page. Of course, any metadata too long to fit in a line can be seen immediately entirely using the tooltip functionality
  • The number of search results displayed per page can be selected on a per user basis
  • And best of all: all the information and functionality of the search results is 100% customizable with the standard SharePoint tools for this

Advanced Search on Images

When the standard search box and its keyword-based search isn't good enough you typically bring up SharePoint's Advanced Search page. Guess what, of course there's an Images Result Type as well:

Just as you'd expect, the properties available for the Images result type can easily be selected using the FC.ImageSearch configuration page.
